What started as an experiment to warm up the creative juices, this series of animal paintings have morphed into a life of its own. Merging fragments of ephemera and textured elements with smears of paint, these animal figures began to emerge from the artistic mess.

Using charcoal to sketch the composition with expressive mark-making gestures, I began to add layers of acrylic paint, gradually glazing and adding opaque layers of juicy oil pigments.

As your gaze drifts across the collection, you'll encounter a breathtaking array of majestic creatures. A regal lion, its mane resplendent with torn pages from vintage books, exudes an aura of strength and authority. A graceful giraffe stretches its slender neck toward the stars. As your attention shifts, a mighty bear takes center stage, commanding attention with its sheer strength and majestic presence.

Each animal stands as an icon of the natural world, both delicate and resilient, their essence captured within the layers of each composition. These artworks emerged from humble experimentation to become an opus of raw emotion and a testament to the transformative power of artistic exploration.
